uCknoppix has been created by senTec Elektronik, a "Design Alliance Partner" of Motorola. It is based on Knoppix 3.3. This is a special version of Debian GNU/Linux, which can boot just from CD-drive and does not require any installation effort on the harddisk of your PC.
The sending of free-of-charge versions of the uCknoppix-CD (sponsored by Motorola Semiconductor) has now been finished. Overall, we have printed and sent out about 1000 copies of the CD. Thanks to all interested people! At the moment, we are going to arange a download space for the image of the CD.
Please note: Although uCknoppix is based on the Knoppix distribution, it is a project independend from the original Knoppix. If you have any questions or comments, please mail to: uCknoppix@uCknoppix.org.
On the uCknoppix-CD you will find beside the ready-to-run Knoppix with all standard Linux tools like editores, NFS and other also all uClinux sources, the GNU tools for 68k/ColdFire processors of Motorola, the Xcopilot simulator and other usefull programs.
